You can train consistently, show up for your workouts, and still feel like something is missing.

Maybe you're trying to lose weight but aren't sure what you should actually be eating. Maybe you're working on building muscle. Maybe you want more energy during your workouts or better recovery afterward. Or maybe you're simply tired of trying different diets and want to understand how to eat in a way that actually fits your life.

That's where nutrition comes in.

At Build Your Dreams CrossFit, we believe fitness isn't just about what happens during the hour you're in the gym. What you eat, how you recover, how you sleep, and the habits you build outside of the gym all play a role in your overall progress.

That's why we're excited to partner with Gia Nutrition and have personalized nutrition coaching available to our community.

Meet Gia

Gia Nutrition Headshot

Gia is a Houston-based sports nutrition coach who works with athletes and active individuals to help them better understand how nutrition can support training, recovery, performance, and everyday life. Her approach focuses on practical, sustainable strategies rather than rigid rules or extreme diets.

And that's one of the things we love about her approach.

Nutrition shouldn't feel like something you have to be "perfect" at.

It should be something you can actually maintain while going to work, training, traveling, eating out, spending time with your family, and living your life.

Why Did BYD Partner With Gia Nutrition?

As coaches, we see it all the time.

Someone starts training consistently and begins making progress. Then eventually they start asking questions like:

"What should I actually be eating?"

"Why am I not seeing the changes I want?"

"How much protein should I be getting?"

"Should I be eating carbs?"

"What should I eat before and after I work out?"

These are important questions—but nutrition is personal.

What works for one person isn't necessarily going to work for someone else. Your goals, schedule, preferences, activity level, and lifestyle all matter.

Rather than giving everyone the same generic nutrition advice, we wanted to have someone in our community who could help members take a more personalized approach.

That's where Gia comes in.

Nutrition Coaching Isn't Just About Weight Loss

Weight loss is one reason people seek nutrition coaching, but it certainly isn't the only one.

Gia works with active individuals with a variety of goals, including:

Losing Weight

If you're trying to lose weight, nutrition coaching can help you understand how your food choices, portions, habits, and overall intake fit into your goals.

The goal isn't simply to eat as little as possible. It's about creating an approach you can actually maintain.

Building Muscle

Want to get stronger and build muscle?

Your nutrition needs to support your training.

That can mean paying closer attention to protein, overall food intake, meal timing, and recovery.

Improving Recovery

If you're training consistently, recovery matters.

Nutrition is one piece of that puzzle. Eating enough and getting the nutrients your body needs can help support the work you're putting in at the gym.

Fueling Your Workouts

CrossFit workouts can be demanding.

If you regularly feel like you're running out of energy halfway through class, your nutrition may be worth looking at.

Gia works with athletes and active individuals on strategies to better fuel their training and support performance.

Building Better Habits

Maybe you don't have a specific weight or performance goal at all.

Maybe you just want to stop feeling confused about food.

Learning how to build balanced meals, understand your nutritional needs, and make choices that fit your lifestyle can be valuable on its own.

What Makes Personalized Nutrition Different?

There's no shortage of nutrition advice online.

One person says you should eat more protein.

Another says you should cut carbs.

Someone else says you should fast.

Then there's the person on TikTok telling you that one specific food is the reason you're not making progress.

It can get overwhelming quickly.

Personalized nutrition coaching is different because it starts with you.

Instead of trying to follow a generic diet, you work with a coach to understand your goals, lifestyle, habits, and what you need from your nutrition.

Gia's coaching approach includes personalized nutrition strategies, accountability, and ongoing guidance designed around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

What Does Working With Gia Look Like?

Gia offers different levels of nutrition support, including personalized 1:1 coaching and options for people who prefer a more self-guided approach. Her coaching can include personalized macro targets, check-ins, progress tracking, and adjustments as your needs change.

The important part is that nutrition coaching isn't about handing you a list of "good foods" and "bad foods" and sending you on your way.

It's about learning.

Learning what your body needs.

Learning how to fuel your training.

Learning how to make nutrition work around your actual schedule.

And learning how to make adjustments when life inevitably gets in the way.

Why We Love Having Gia at BYD as our Nutrition Coach in Houston

One of the biggest benefits of our partnership is that Gia isn't just some company we refer members to.

She's part of our community.

Gia meets with BYD members at the gym, which makes it easier to connect your nutrition goals with your training.

You're already working with your coaches on what you're doing inside the gym.

Nutrition coaching can help you work on what you're doing outside of it.

Those two pieces can complement each other really well.

You Don't Have to Have Everything Figured Out

One of the biggest misconceptions about nutrition is that you need to completely overhaul your diet to make progress.

You don't.

You don't need to meal prep every single meal.

You don't need to give up your favorite foods.

You don't need to eat perfectly.

And you definitely don't need to start over every Monday.

Small, sustainable changes can add up over time.

The goal is to find an approach that works with your life—not one that requires your entire life to revolve around your diet.

That's something we really appreciate about Gia's philosophy: nutrition is about learning how to support yourself, not punishing yourself for what you eat.

Nutrition + CrossFit: The Bigger Picture

We often talk about consistency when it comes to CrossFit.

Show up.

Put in the work.

Recover.

Come back and do it again.

Nutrition is much the same.

You don't need to have the perfect meal before every workout or eat perfectly every day.

You need habits you can maintain.

Training and nutrition can work together to support the goals you're working toward—whether that's getting stronger, improving your fitness, changing your body composition, recovering better, or simply feeling better day to day.

And sometimes having someone in your corner makes it much easier to stay consistent.

Interested in Working With Gia?

If you've been thinking about improving your nutrition but aren't sure where to start, Gia can help you figure out what makes sense for your goals.

Your Fitness Is More Than Your Workout

At Build Your Dreams CrossFit, our goal has always been bigger than simply getting people through a workout.

We want to help people build strength, confidence, healthy habits, and a lifestyle they can be proud of.

That's why we're excited to have partners like Gia who share that same philosophy.

Train hard. Fuel your body. Recover well. Keep building.

That's what we're all about at BYD.
